Preliminary Results on Experimental Modelling of an Adsorption Chiller

Adsorption refrigeration, as a renewable cooling method, has received more attention in the last few years. The interest this technology comes especially from developing and tropical countries, where demand for increases every year due to economy population growth. Based on scenario, work aims develop numerical model of an adsorption chiller driven with solar energy, which can be used optimize system operation building device is situated compare it current methods use. study here presented was created using Matlab/Simulink™, based lumped parameter that relies physical properties represents pair silica gel-water two-bed chiller. In study, authors proposed simplified version model, reduce simulation time provide faster results. Besides temperatures system, range 52 °C 72 hot cycle 12 23 chilled water cycle, results also include variation uptake two adsorbent beds. general, simulated temperature, heating power coefficient performance (COP) are fair agreement literature data, nevertheless, final show improvements still have performed.
